--The excursion takes its origin from the mountain near Hell’s Bridge at an altitude of 550 m. It continues on a dirt track along the River Bussento through the National Park of Cileno in Southern Italy
At the gates of the town of Rofrano starts this trekking; the Mingardo river has carved over millions of years a 500 mt. long gorge in the middle of the National Park of Cilento. Here flows the river between recessed walls up to 30 meters high and the sun can not penetrate the curtain formed by the foliage of trees. In summer you can follow it on board of boats, in absolute safety. The access is guaranteed by a comfortable hiking trail which originates near the bridge over the River Pharaoh, 1 km from the town. The length of the path is about 1.5km, and is very indicated for a relaxing trekking amid the healthy river environment; it is also equipped with benches and tables to enjoy the coolness of the river.

Paestum is one of the most precious archeological gems of Italy, known especially for its spectacular doric temples among the best preserved of all antiquity; the Temple of Neptune, the Basilica and the Temple of Cerere stand majestically in front of the sea. In the area of the Roman city there are also the significant remains of the Forum and the Amphitheatre. Once called Poseidonia it became one of the most flourishing cities in the Mediterranean until the fall of the Roman Empire.
The ancient city of Elea-Velia, noted in the mid 17th century by Lucas Holstenius was, together with nearby Paestum, the object of interest for many scholars and travellers, like the Danish theologist Mùnter, the Duke of Luynes, Lenormant and Schleuning, who from the 700s onwards explored beyond the usual itinerary of the Grand Tour, undertaking adventurous journeys in search of those mythical places celebrated by Homer in the Odyssea and by Virgil in the Aeneid.
